SXSW: 'Vessel' Follows Activist Providing Abortions at Sea (Exclusive Video)

The film, part of the documentary competition, chronicles the travels of Dr. Rebecca Gomperts.

Vessel, a documentary about a woman who provides abortions on the high seas, will have its world premiere during the South by Southwest Film Festival as part of the documentary competition.

The Hollywood Reporter debuts an exclusive clip from the film, which follows Dr. Rebecca Gomperts as she sails a ship around the world, providing abortions at sea for women with no legal alternative. With each roadblock comes a more refined mission, until Rebecca realizes she can use new technologies to bypass law -- and train women to give themselves abortions using WHO-researched protocols with pills.
