Tandem rides with Cuatro
EmptyMunich-based boutique production house Tandem has signed a deal with Spanish commercial channel Cuatro that will see latter take the bulk of Tandem's output of series, miniseries and TV movies.
"Tandem's past projects have had a lot of success in the Spanish market, (and) we are very pleased to secure them as a supplier for Cuatro," said Angel Lopez, the channel's acquisitions head.
The first title under the deal is "Impact," a $13 million miniseries Tandem is shopping to buyers here at MIPCOM. The agreement also includes the Sci Fi series "Painkiller Jane," for which Tandem holds international distribution rights.
"We are very pleased to be in business with Cuatro," Tandem managing director Rola Bauer said. "Their success with English-language programming makes them a strategically strong partner for us in the Spanish market."
The deal was negotiated by Cuatro's Lopez and Tandem's Jonas Bauer, who last week was named a partner in the German company alongside Rola Bauer and Tim Halkin.
