'Tara' pilot adds more personalities

Diablo Cody's comedy pilot "The United States of Tara" is moving closer to a series order at Showtime with the hire of writer-producer Alexa Junge.

Additionally, Portia Doubleday and Keir Gilchrist have joined the cast of the DreamWorks TV-produced pilot, which stars Toni Collette as Tara, a wife and mother with multiple- personality syndrome.

Junge has been tapped to serve as executive producer should the single-camera project get a series pickup. She would exec produce alongside Cody, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank.

Junge was a supervising producer on NBC's "The West Wing" and co-exec producer on "Friends." She is repped by WMA, manager Ann Blanchard at Mosaic Media Group and attorney Michael Gendler.

Production on the pilot for "Tara," which Craig Gillespie is directing, will begin in April in Los Angeles.

Newcomer Doubleday and Gilchrist (Fox's "The Winner") will play Tara's teens. John Corbett recently was cast as her husband (HR 3/19).

Gilchrist is repped by ICM, Thruline and Amanda Rosenthal in Canada.
