Taylor will fill Fox diversity post

Former UPN exec hired as part of companywide effort

Fox has created an executive position that focuses on promoting diversity across all aspects of the network's programming.

Former UPN executive Ron Taylor will fill the role, where he'll develop scripts that feature diverse themes or are written by diverse writers as well as provide input on other Fox scripted projects.

Taylor's role is part of a companywide effort to embed diversity more deeply in its creative teams. Taylor was vp diversity development at Fox Entertainment. He also has several writing credits from various TV shows.

"Ron has been a key partner to our programming team for many years and possesses a unique eye for strong, diverse writing and directing talent," said Matt Cherniss, executive vp programming, to whom Taylor will report.
