Film Arcade Takes U.S. Rights to Taylor Schilling's 'Family'
Brian Tyree Henry also stars in the comedy.
Film Arcade has taken U.S. rights to Family, a comedy starring Orange Is the New Black's Taylor Schilling.
Laura Steinel, who was a staff writer on Amazon comedy Red Oaks, wrote and directed the feature that premiered in March at SXSW.
Family follows an emotionally stunted aunt (Schilling) tasked with watching her 12-year-old niece who finds her life unfurling when the girl runs away to become a Juggalo, a super-fan of the group Insane Clown Posse.
Brian Tyree Henry, Jessie Ennis and Matt Walsh also star, along with Allison Tolman, Eric Edelstein and newcomer Bryn Vale.
Annapurna’s Sue Naegle produced the pic with Kit Giordano. Dan Kaplow, Schilling and Jeremy Garelick executive produced, along with Steinel, who sold the comedy script Women In Business to Fox.
The deal was negotiated by UTA on behalf of the filmmakers.
