Taylor Swift Goes Platinum for Vogue
The newly blond bombshell and pop icon turns heads as the May cover star.
Third time's a charm for pop queen Taylor Swift, whose newest — and boldest — Vogue cover dropped today. Gracing the May cover of the magazine (on stands April 26), T. Swift swaps her girl-next-door look for a sexy new vibe, complete with white-blond shag and bleached eyebrows, all paired with her signature red pout.
"We very much wanted to give Taylor a new look, make her into a sort of a rock 'n' roll chick," said editor-in-chief Anna Wintour on the Today show on Thursday morning. Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and styled by fashion editor Tonne Goodman, Swift's transformation on the cover is complete with a slinky Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane slip dress and Vetement boots. Inside, the pop star rocks a Marc Jacobs dress and shoes.

Writer Jason Gay profiles the singer-songwriter, who invites him along as her date to her best friend's wedding in her childhood home of Reading, PA. Swift opens up to Gay on everything from her Kanye West feud to boyfriend Calvin Harris. She also touches on her own sense of style and its evolution. "Going through different phases is one of my favorite things about fashion. I love how it can mark the passage of time," she says. "It's similar to my songs in that way — it all helps identify where I was at different parts of my life."
Alongside Wintour, Swift will also co-chair this year's Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute 2016 Gala on May 2 for the exhibition Manus X Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.
