Taylor Swift Debuts "Out of the Woods" Music Video During 'New Year's Rockin' Eve'
ABC ends The Year of Swift on a high note with the sixth music video from her album '1989.'
Taylor Swift debuted her new “Out of the Woods” music video Thursday night as part of ABC’s Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2016, hosted by Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy in Times Square.
At 10:50 p.m. EST, Seacrest introduced Swift's video, which is for the sixth single off of the album 1989, following "Shake It Off," "Blank Space," "Style," "Bad Blood" and "Wildest Dreams."
In the video, which was shot on location in New Zealand, Swift is barefoot and donning several blue dresses as she walks, swims and crawls through different terrain.
"Wow, Taylor Swift, you are my guru!" exclaimed McCarthy after it premiered.
Swift told Good Morning America last October that the song is about a relationship that was “breakable and fragile and full of anxiety" and is rumored to be about One Direction’s Harry Styles. Just one hour earlier on ABC's West Coast New Year's Eve show, Styles and One Direction performed their song "Perfect" — which is rumored to be about Swift in response to "Out of the Woods."
Other performers on the lineup for Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve in Times Square include Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Demi Lovato, Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth. One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer, Fall Out Boy, Andy Grammer, Ellie Goulding, Elle King, Tove Lo, Rachel Platten, Walk the Moon, Alessia Cara, DNCE, Nick Jonas, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, OMI, Pentatonix and Nathan Sykes perform as part of the Billboard Hollywood Party.
