Taylor Swift's New Song And Edgy Rebrand Widely Mocked on Social Media
The first single "Look What You Made Me Do" from the upcoming album 'Reputation' dropped late on Thursday.
The old Taylor is dead.
So Taylor Swift tells us on her first new song in 3 years "Look What You Made Me Do" that dropped on Thursday night. The new Taylor — at least from the song and its lyrics — is a bit darker and a bit edgier. The new Taylor — judging from the reaction on social media — has missed the mark a tad with her attempts to rebrand her image and change up her music.
Billboard described early fan reaction as mixed but as more and more people listened to the song on Thursday, the most liked and retweeted posts about the song on social skewed towards the negative.
Here's a roundup of the decidedly more unimpressed reactions to the song on Twitter.

"Look What You Made Me Do" was written by Swift, fun's Jack Antonoff and 3 members of the '90's British pop band Right Said Fred (famous for "I'm Too Sexy" and "Deeply Dippy"). The song is the lead single from Swift's upcoming sixth studio album Reputation, which is set for release on Nov. 10.
