"I am truly sorry to the people I've offended or lessened how big coming out is. I just want to spread love in this world."

Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey saw some online backlash after posting what appeared to be a coming out video to Snapchat, only to later reveal that it wasn't real.

In the Snapchat video he posted Friday, Perry stands in front of a sign for "Gay St" and says, "This is me. I am this and this is me. I’ve never felt more alive. I’m gay!"

Fans and Teen Wolf viewers applauded the actor for coming out at first, only to later to find out that he was only pretending. Posey apologized on Twitter: "Although I'm not gay, I fully support the LGBTQ community. This was a moment intended to reflect that." He also apologized for downplaying or lessening "how big coming out is" for any of his LGBTQ fans.
