Televisa, WB International TV Distribution Extend Output Deal for Mexico

MEXICO CITY -- Mexico's Televisa and Warner Bros. International Television Distribution have extended a multi-year output deal for the Mexican market.

Under the deal announced Wednesday, Warner will provide Televisa with broadcast TV rights to such series as The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Gossip Girl and V. The pact also allows Televisa to air blockbuster Warner film titles, including The Dark Knight and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Televisa, the world's top producer of Spanish-language content, typically leans on foreign fare to shore up a primetime lineup consisting primarily of telenovelas and news programs.

Warner and Televisa have been working together for five decades.

"Televisa has been our long-standing partner in Mexico and we are extremely pleased to have concluded this deal, which extends our highly successful and mutually beneficial relationship well into the next decade," said Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, president of Warner Bros. International Television.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
