Telluride Film Festival Unveils Poster

Illustrator Yann Legendre spotlights the Yeti.

The 43rd Telluride Film Festival has gotten its new poster via artist Yann Legendre.

Legendre is a French illustrator whose work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and GQ. He regularly does work for Universal Music, as well as the Criterion Collection.

“During the Festival, Telluride is all about films and the love for cinema. While in the town, if you are looking carefully around, you may have a chance to see that even in the middle of the mountains the Yeti is trying his best to be involved in the Festival and hoping to become a movie star, by reaching the summit, literally and figuratively," explained Legendre of his inspiration for the poster.

"I use this metaphorical scene to introduce the Telluride Film Festival as a unique place where the magic of cinema happens with a good dose of humour!”

Previous artists have included Laurent Durieux, Dottie Attie and Looney Tunes creator Chuck Jones.

The Telluride Film Festival is set to run Sept. 2-5 in Colorado.
