'Theory of Everything' Director James Marsh Signs With WME (Exclusive)
The Oscar winner (for 2008 documentary 'Man on Wire') was previously with CAA.
The Theory of Everything director James Marsh has left CAA for WME, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.
The love story about ALS-stricken physicist Stephen Hawking and his wife Jane was a fixture of the 2014-15 awards season, earning best picture nominations at the Oscars and the Golden Globes and being named outstanding British film at the BAFTAs. Marsh had previously won the BAFTAs' highest domestic honor for directing the 2008 documentary Man on Wire, about Philippe Petit's harrowing World Trade Center tightrope walk, which also won best documentary feature at the Academy Awards.
Marsh now is in postproduction on another true story, this one about Donald Crowhurst's mysterious and fatal attempt to single-handedly circumnavigate the globe in the 1968 Golden Globe yacht race. The drama, Deep Water, stars Colin Firth and Rachel Weisz as Crowhurst and his wife and will be released this fall by StudioCanal.
Marsh continues to be repped by Independent Talent Group in the U.K.
