THR's Elizabeth Guider joins Peabody board

Three-year term effective immediately

Elizabeth Guider, the editor of The Hollywood Reporter, has been tapped as a member of the board of the Peabody Awards and will participate in the selection process for winners in the 68th annual competition.

Guider is the first staffer at THR to serve on the 16-member board and will do so for three years.

Winners for outstanding achievement in electronic media -- consisting of radio, television, cable and Web content aired in 2008 -- will be unveiled in April.

The Peabodys were first presented in 1941 and are administered by the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia.
