Tierney recipient of CFTPA Producer's Award

Credits include 'Bon Cop/Bad Cop,' 'One Dead Indian'

TORONTO -– The Toronto International Film Festival may be a non-competitive event, but they're already doling out the trophies.

Canadian producers bestowed Montreal-based Kevin Tierney with $10,000 and the CFTPA Producer's Award.

Tierney, of Montreal-based Park Ex Pictures, was also in Toronto Friday to debut "The Trotsky," an English-language comedy directed by son Jacob Tierney.

"This is the first time I can honestly say I have ever really loved my director. Not enough to share the dough with him, but nonetheless I thank him and my colleagues for bestowing me with this great honor," Tierney said.

His earlier credits include "Bon Cop/Bad Cop," "One Dead Indian" and "The Life of P.T. Barnam."
