Tiffany Haddish Reveals How She Bonded With Barbra Streisand

During an appearance on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show,' the comedian also revealed Taylor Swift's impressive cooking skills.

Comedian Tiffany Haddish revealed she found a "sister" in Barbra Streisand and friend in Taylor Swift during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Monday.

Haddish, who has been outspoken about her time in foster care, recalled explaining to Streisand the story of rapper Cardi B, who she says, “transformed her life.”

“She’s like, “Who’s Cardi B?’ and I’m like, ‘What! You don’t know?'," Haddish explained to DeGeneres, adding that she began rapping Cardi B’s hit song, “Bodak Yellow” to Streisand.

Still unaware of who the rapper was, the Girls Trip actress said that Streisand simply responded, “sounds catchy,” after listening to the comedian rap.

Haddish also explained that her and Streisand bonded over their childhood with Haddish growing up in South Central Los Angeles and Streisand in Brooklyn. “We found out we were both from the 'hood, how we both ghetto chicks, except it’s different times,” Haddish joked, with DeGeneres comically adding, “Different ghetto. Different times.”

The comedian also shared details of her newfound friendship with Taylor Swift, after meeting her during her Saturday Night Live hosting gig, for which the singer served as the musical guest. After Swift asked the comedian to get together for dinner, Haddish explained she had some special requests.

“Look if I come over, you gotta make me some barbeque chicken, some potato salad and a brisket,” Haddish recalled telling Swift.

To Haddish’s surprise, Swift cooked a "bomb" dinner for the party. “First of all, Taylor can cook,” Haddish said. “The chicken was bomb! And she made cornbread. Bomb!” Haddish brought her signature “joyful greens” to the party, which Swift also praised.

Being a guest on DeGeneres' show for the first time, Haddish took a moment to explain her longtime wish to work alongside the host, until her friends informed her that DeGeneres was a “squeaky clean” comedian. “I was like, ‘Well then I’ll just be watching her’ ‘cause I’m not!” Haddish joked.

Haddish also revealed that she stole the cat from her film Keanu, promising DeGeneres that if she were to come over she would see. “So it’s two famous … in the house,” Haddish said.
