At 73, Tina Turner becomes the oldest person to grace the magazine's cover.
The queen of rock 'n' roll, Tina Turner, has proved she’s still got it, becoming the oldest person to make the cover of Vogue.
The legendary diva appears on her first Vogue cover for the April 2013 issue of German Vogue. Shot by photography duo Claudia Knoepfel & Stefan Indlekofer and styled by Nicola Knels, the gorgeous Turner stuns in a modern silk blue gown by Armani, with a red pout and her signature honey blonde-hair. Even though her famous legs don't make an appearance, the cover says it all: "Simply the Best!"
Oh, and did we mention she is 73? The “Private Dancer” singer snatched the title for the oldest person to cover the fashion magazine from Meryl Streep, who covered the American Vogue last year at age 62.
Turner recently renounced her U.S. citizenship to become Swiss after residing in Kuesnacht, Zurich since the mid-'90s. The diva recently told the local Swiss newspaper Blick that she’s “very happy in Switzerland, and I feel at home here. I cannot imagine a better place to live."
Turner is in the studio recording the studio album “Beyond 2.”
We hope to look half this good at 73!
