TiVo CEO to give MIPCOM keynote

Tom Rogers to talk about TiVo's impact on TV viewing

PARIS -- MIPCOM attendees will be able to pause, rewind and replay the Oct. 7 keynote speech when TiVo president and CEO Tom Rogers heads to Cannes to talk about the DVR's home entertainment revolution, organizers Reed MIDEM said Thursday.

Rogers will talk about TiVo's impact on television viewing and share his vision for the future of the medium during an interview with the Hollywood Reporter's editor-in-chief Elizabeth Guider.

TiVo, a digital video recorder service, was created in 1997 before Rogers came on board in 2005. Rogers served as president of NBC Cable and EVP of NBC and founder of business news channel CNBC before fast forwarding to his position at TiVo.

The keynote will kick off MIPCOM's Connected Entertainment conference series focusing on Internet-enabled TV and technology's impact on content delivery. The MIPCOM market runs Oct. 5 – 9 in Cannes.
