Todd McCarthy joining NYFF selection committee

Film critics Scott Foundas, Melissa Anderson also on board

Todd McCarthy, former Variety film critic, has joined the New York Film Festival selection committee, headed by Richard Pena, program director for the Film Society of Lincoln Center.

"Todd is one of the most recognized voices in film criticism," Film Society executive director Mara Manus, said. "It's always important to bring together a team that compliments one another and Todd was an ideal fit for our selection committee. His amazing career has shown Todd's multi-faceted strengths in writing and directing, all to better serve his readers and fans of world cinema, we couldn't ask for a more perfect addition to our team."

The other selection committee members are ex-LA Weekly film critic Scott Foundas, who is now associate program director for the Film Society, and New York-based film critics Melissa Anderson and Dennis Lim.
