Tom Cerio segues to post at Warners

HBO distrib'n exec taking senior role at domestic TV unit

HBO distribution exec Tom Cerio has joined Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution as executive vp cable sales. The move completes the integration of the former Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution into WBDTD.

Cerio will oversee the licensing of all Warner Bros. Entertainment programming to cable networks and satellite providers as well as the sale of theatrical movies to broadcast nets. He will report to WBDTD president Ken Werner.

Also as part of the restructuring, WBDTD veteran Gus Lucas has been named to the new position of executive vp strategic sales and planning, reporting to Cerio. Another WBDTD veteran, Mike Russo, has been named senior vp West Coast cable sales, and Dan Menzel has been tapped as a New York-based vp cable sales.

For the past six years, Cerio served as exec vp program distribution at HBO, where he oversaw the creation of the pay cable net's distribution unit and supervised the off-HBO launches of "The Sopranos" and "Sex and the City."
