Tom Ford to Present at Golden Globes
The designer and film director will make his debut on the stage at the Beverly Hilton on Sunday.
On Friday, the Hollywood Foreign Press announced the last of the presenters for this weekend's Golden Globe Awards, and while it contains dozens of the biggest names in film and TV, one name stands out as a non-actor: Tom Ford.
Of course, he is a celebrity — a huge one in the world of fashion — and the rare designer who's crossed over to film director for A Single Man. He most recently wrapped his second film, Nocturnal Animals, with Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams. (Joel Schumacher was also a designer before he became a huge Hollywood director.)
But it's a big event for the fashion world to see a designer like Ford come so far as to present at a major international awards show, acting as both celebrity and director. And what's equally interesting is there will no doubt be men dressed in Tom Ford, and perhaps one woman, this year.
So our question is this: will Tom Ford's name appear on the Tom Ford press release announcing who wore his clothes? That would be a first! No doubt, he will be the best dressed man in the place.
