Tom Ford Releases a Special Edition Eyewear Collection for Fall 2012
The classic, retro styles are made with gold plating, water buffalo horn and a very high level of craftsmanship - which explains the price point.
Tom Ford sunglasses and eyewear, we can say fairly unequivocably, are the best and most stylish frames in the business. The acclaimed high-fashion designer is releasing a special-edition optical collection for fall 2012, and his new models have a vintage, 1950s look: they're made of gold-plated metal with precious water buffalo horn on the front and the temple tips.
The retro-influenced frames represent the highest levels of fabrication in eyewear. Each pair of glasses, leather case included, is presented in a Bakelite box with a soft brown lining. A certificate of authenticity and a special cleansing cream and chamois cloth are provided to care for the water buffalo horn, which might appear slightly different on every frame due to its organic origin.
The frames will be available for $2,950 in Tom Ford boutiques and select luxury department stores. Not an easy price to pay, but if you wear specs all the time, it's probably worth it to have these.
