Watch Tom Hanks' Hilarious Impression of Ron Howard Shooting a Drone Scene in 'Inferno'
Tom Hanks gave his best impression of director Ron Howard when he visited the Late Show Monday night, as he reenacted a lively production moment that occurred while shooting a "hairy scene" from Inferno.
"I'm such a jerk, Dave, because this would be a great moment in the movie, provided no one has seen this bit on your show," Hanks admitted to David Letterman. "Rule number one is do not ridicule the movie you are in!"
Hanks — who later joked of Letterman's big retirement plans, "two words: space camp" — shared that while they were shooting the film in the Palazzo Vecchio, in Florence, Howard had a tendency to loudly note when a drone would be added into a scene and when it would be gone. "Now it's back! Hovering!"
Hanks also introduced Letterman to the selfie stick. "Rita [Wilson] announced when these first came out that we will never, ever have a selfie stick in the house," he said. "But they sell these [selfie sticks] all over Florence, which was the birthplace of the Renaissance."
