Tom Sheppard Options 'Grounding of Group Six'

Tom Sheppard has optioned the motion picture and TV rights to Julian F. Thompson’s young adult novel The Grounding of Group Six, a thriller about students who discover that their parents have paid their boarding school to have them killed.

Sheppard, who has won three Emmy Awards as a writer for the animated series Back to the Barnyard and Pinky and the Brain, is writing the film adaptation, which he plans to direct.
Sheppard also wrote the indie feature Would I Lie to You? and the screenplay for New Line’s live action New Adventures of Pinocchio.
Via his Serious Dog Films, Sheppard, repped by The Collection, negotiated the deal with Curtis Brown’s Cathy Perifimos, who repped Thompson.
