Reimagined in its virtual format, the 9-day event runs Sept. 12-20.

Tony Hawk and Cyberpunk franchise creator Mike Pondsmith are leading the lineup for PAX Online, the digital iteration of video game conference PAX West.

The nine-day virtual event, running Sept. 12-20, will open with Pondsmith, founder of R. Talsorian Games, delivering a keynote address that will stream live on Twitch. The upcoming action-adventure game Cyberpunk 2077 is based, in part, on Pondsmith's 1988 tabletop role-playing game, Cyberpunk 2020.

Hawk will appear at the esports stage PAX Arena on Sept. 15 to provide commentary for a tournament of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2, which were remastered with 4K visuals and online multiplayer modes this year.

Elsewhere, Insomniac Games CEO Ted Price and Sucker Punch Productions co-founder Brian Fleming will record an episode of the Game Maker's Notebook podcast, produced by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences.

Meanwhile, a composer and vocalist pairing from Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Horizon: Forbidden West and Fallout 4 will share their collaborative process.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Hitman series, voice actor David Bateson will speak about the game's legacy. Last but not least, the indie showcase will highlight 20 upcoming titles from around the world.

Originally, the event was scheduled to take place in Seattle this year, but due to COVID-19 concerns it was canceled in June and reimagined in this new format.

PAX Online is free to attend, and the full schedule can be viewed here.
