In other 'Hamilton' casting news, Mandy Gonzalez, a veteran of Lin-Manuel Miranda's 'In the Heights,' will join the Broadway company in October as Angelica Schuyler.

Joshua Henry, the two-time Tony Award nominee who made his Broadway debut in Lin-Manuel Miranda's breakout show, In the Heights, will lead the Chicago production of Hamilton in the role of Aaron Burr.

Since his first Broadway appearance in 2008, Henry has received Tony nominations as lead actor in a musical for The Scottsboro Boys and as featured actor for Violet. He was also featured in American Idiot and The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, and most recently starred in last season's critically acclaimed Shuffle Along.

In addition to In the Heights, Henry also collaborated with Hamilton director Thomas Kail on a 2009 semi-staged concert version of The Wiz, playing the Tin Man. His association with Hamilton began with a 2013 workshop staging at Vassar College, in which he played King George III, back when the show was titled Hamilton Mixtape.

The role of Burr won a Tony for Leslie Odom Jr. this year in the blockbuster musical about America's founding fathers.

In other Hamilton casting news, Mandy Gonzalez, also an In the Heights cast veteran, will step into the Broadway company of Hamilton in October, taking over from Tony winner Renee Elise Goldsberry in the role of Angelica Schuyler. Gonzalez is currently appearing on the CBS drama Madam Secretary and has been seen in a recurring role on ABC's Quantico.

Also joining the Chicago company of Hamilton is Jonathan Kirkland as George Washington, while previously announced principal cast members include Miguel Cervantes as Alexander Hamilton, Ari Afsar as Eliza Hamilton, Karen Olivo as Angelica Schuyler, Alexander Gemignani as King George III, Chris Lee as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson, Jose Ramos as John Laurens/Phillip Hamilton, Wallace Smith as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison and Samantha Marie Ware as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds. Joseph Morales will alternate with Cervantes as Alexander.

Hamilton won 11 Tonys this year and has grossed a whopping $92.3 million in its first year on Broadway. The Chicago staging is the show's first full production outside of New York, beginning performances Sept. 27 at the PrivateBank Theatre.
