Top talent for PGA's confab

Marc Cherry, Betsy Beers  among producers lined up

The Producers Guild of America's inaugural Produced By Conference will take over Sony Pictures Studio on June 5-7.

Designed to create a dialogue between producers and the rest of the creative community, the confab will include panels, workshops and seminars on the state of film, television and new-media production.

The lineup of veteran producers includes Marc Cherry ("Desperate Housewives"), Betsy Beers ("Grey's Anatomy"), Lauren Shuler Donner ("The Secret Life of Bees"), Bruce Cohen ("Milk") and Larry Gordon ("Watchmen").

"The people who have committed to this conference represent the most savvy, creative minds in our industry," event co-chairs Gale Anne Hurd and Rachel Klein said. "Their insights and perspectives will give our attendees priceless information to incorporate into their own careers."

Carlton Cuse, R.J. Cutler, Sarah Green, Bill Lawrence, Gary Lucchesi and Sabrina Wind will join previously announced participants James Cameron, Clint Eastwood & Rob Lorenz, Lucy Fisher & Doug Wick, Mark Gordon, Brian Grazer & Ron Howard, Marshall Herskovitz, Kathleen Kennedy and the producing teams from Marvel and Pixar.

Producers and panelists will discuss new camera and 3-D technologies, changes in distribution and financing opportunities and previews of developing properties.

The 2009 Produced By Conference is presented by Plymouth Rock Studios.
