Toronto: Christopher Plummer Joins John Travolta Heist Pic 'The Forger'

TELEVISION: Christopher Plummer

Christopher Plummer (ICM, The Pitt Group) and Frank Langella (ICM) will star as Supreme Court justices in HBO Films' "Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight," about the boxer's opposition to the Vietnam War, for director Stephen Frears.

The Solution is shopping the project -- also starring Tye Sheridan -- to foreign buyers at the festival.

Christopher Plummer will star opposite John Travolta and Tye Sheridan in The Forger, a heist pic spanning three generations.

Code Entertainment and The Solution are co-producing and co-financing the film, which Philip Martin is set to start shooting in Boston in October.

Written by Richard D’Ovidio (The Call), The Forger tells the story of a former child art prodigy and second generation petty thief, Ray Cutter (Travolta), who arranges to buy his way out of prison to spend time with his ailing son, Will (Sheridan).

In turn, Ray and his father, Joseph (Plummer), must join forces and find a way to pay back the mob syndicate which financed his release.

Code’s Al Corley, Bart Rosenblatt, and Eugene Musso will produce alongside Rob Carliner. Jonathan Dana and Randi Michel will executive produce alongside The Solution’s Myles Nestel and Lisa Wilson. Anson Downes and Linda Favila will serve as co-executive producers.

The Solution is representing international rights and is shopping the project to foreign buyers at the Toronto Film Festival. WME Global and ICM are handling domestic sales.

"Christopher Plummer brings elegance and class to an already astonishing cast. The Forger team welcomes Mr. Plummer with open arms and feels truly fortunate to include his enormous talents," said Corley.

Added Wilson and Nestel, "We feel privileged to have the legendary Christopher Plummer joining the cast of The Forger. His extraordinary presence on screen is a welcome addition to the great cast featuring John Travolta and Tye Sheridan."

Plummer is repped by ICM.
