Toronto: Distrib Films Picks Up Two Italian Comedies for US
Roberto Ando's 'Viva Liberta' stars Toni Servillo and crime comedy 'The Mafia Only Kills in Summer' features political satirist turned director Pierfrancesco Diliberto
Speciality distributor Distrib Films has picked up U.S. rights for two Italian comedies from Rai Com.
Distrib will release Roberto Ando’s multi-award winning laffer Viva La Liberta featuring Toni Servillo, the star of Oscar-winner The Great Beauty; as well as director Pierfrancesco Diliberto's dark mafia comedy The Mafia Only Kills in Summer.
Servillo turns in a double role in Viva la Liberta as twin brothers, one a depressed politician and another a philosophy professor recently released from a psychiatric hospital.
The Mafia Only Kills in Summer is Diliberto's directorial debut. He is best known as a satirical television comedian considered Italy's version of Jon Stewart.
