The movie is based on the true life experiences of Danny A. Abeckaser, who wrote the script

The Orchard, a boutique distribution outfit for music, video and film, has picked up North American rights to Club Life, a drama from Radar Pictures, the indie production company behind Spring Breakers.

A spring/summer 2015 release is being planned.

Entourage star Jerry Ferrara, Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szohr and veteran actor Robert Davi topline the movie, as does Danny A. Abeckaser. Abeckaser, who plays himself, also wrote the movie based on his experiences and is one of the film’s producers.

Life goes behind the velvet ropes of the Manhattan club scene to tell the story of a young promoter (Ferrara) looking to make a name for himself. He finds a mentor in Abeckaser, a so-called nightclub lord, but soon finds there’s a price to the glitz and glam.

Fabrizio Conte directed the film. Per Melita co-produced.

Life is the second collaboration between Radar Pictures’ Ted Field and Abeckaser.

The deal was negotiated between Orchard’s Craig Sussman and Field and Mike Weber, partners at Radar Pictures, who count the Riddick movie series and The Last Samurai among their credits. Field and Weber represented the domestic sale and served as executive producers on the project, as they did on the indie hit Spring Breakers.
