Toronto: Noah Baumbach's 'While We're Young' Gets Canadian Distribution

Elevation Pictures also nabbed the local rights to Jalmari Helander's 'Big Game'

Elevation Pictures has inked deals to acquire two Toronto Film Festival titles for the Canadian market, Noah Baumbach's While We're Young and Jalmari Helander's Big Game.

The deal with FilmNation hands Elevation the local rights to the Ben Stiller- and Naomi Watts-starring dramedy by Baumbach that earlier sold to A24 Films for the U.S. market.

The indie distributor also acquired Big Game, the genre action thriller by Helander that stars Samuel L. Jackson and will be released in the U.S. by RED/Relativity.

Elevation, which has Teddy Schwarzman of Black Bear Pictures as a minority investor, came into Toronto with the Canadian rights to Morten Tyldum's The Imitation Game, which earned the festival's top audience prize.
