Toronto: Sirius XM Investor Backs Ivanhoe Pictures
Robert Friedland has joined up with Greene Street Films head John Penotti and Beijing-based media veteran Ray Chen to launch the film and TV financing/production company.
International financier Robert Friedland, Greene Street Films head John Penotti and Beijing-based media veteran Ray Chen have teamed up to launch Ivanhoe Pictures, a new film and TV financing and production company.
Friedland, through Ivanhoe Capital Corp., was an early investor in Sirius Satellite Radio (now Sirius XM) and Chinese-language infotainment site Sina.com. Penotti spent the past 20 years at GreenStreet producing more than 30 films including the Oscar-nominated In the Bedroom.
The new company will finance and produce fare with a global appeal although the initial focus will be on America and Asia. The company will be based in Hollywood.
