Tour will stay on Spain's TVE

MADRID -- Spanish pubcaster TVE on Tuesday announced it has picked up broadcast rights for three more editions of the Tour de France but offered no financial details.

Along with the Tour, TVE secured the rights to seven other major French cycling races, the company said in a statement.

On Sunday, Carlos Sastre won the race, the third Spanish rider to win in as many years.

During the contest, 25 million Spaniards tuned in to the Tour and the channel had a 24% share in the last minutes as Sastre raced through Paris to victory.
