Golden Globes: Tracee Ellis Ross Wins Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series, Comedy or Musical

The 74th annual awards show, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday.

Tracee Ellis Ross took home the Golden Globe for best performance by an actress in a TV series, comedy or musical, for her role in Black-ish on Sunday night.

"This is for all the women of color and colorful people whose stories, ideas, thoughts are not always considered worthy and valid and important," Ross said. "But I want you to know that I see you. We see you."

The actress beat out Rachel Bloom in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Julia Louis-Dreyfus in Veep, Sarah Jessica Parker in Divorce, Issa Rae in Insecure and Gina Rodriguez in Jane the Virgin.

The actress dished about the ABC show earlier to THR on the Globes red carpet.

"I feel really proud of the show in general," said Ellis. "Every week I feel surprised by our scripts and the way that they very courageously tackle heavy subjects and somehow the show is still funny."

Jimmy Fallon hosted the 74th annual Golden Globe Awards, which took place at the Beverly Hilton on Jan. 8.
