'Transformers' sequel to bow at LAFF

Film takes over three Westwood movie theaters

Autobots and Decepticons will descend on Westwood once again as the Los Angeles Film Festival hosts the American premiere of Dreamworks/Paramount's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" on June 22 at three theaters -- the Village Theater, the Bruin and the Avco.

The premiere will be a homecoming of sorts for "Transformers" since Michael Bay's first "Transformers" movie played LAFF two years ago.

The "Transformers" sequel, which will be released nationwide June 24, stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro. Bay directed from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger & Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman. The film was produced by Don Murphy & Tom DeSanto, Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Ian Bryce. Exec producers are Steven Spielberg, Bay, Brian Goldner and Mark Vahradian.

"The festival is delighted to welcome back Michael Bay and 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' after our successful launch two years ago. It's a wonderful opportunity for festival audiences to get a sneak peek at what will surely be one of this summer's biggest action films," fest director Rebecca Yeldham said.

Tickets to the premiere can be obtained by purchasing a Discovery, Industry, or Fast pass to this year's festival, which runs from June 18 - 28.
