"Kendrick is what Kanye would have been if the Kardashians didn't get him."
Kendrick Lamar was widely praised on social media for his provocative, politically charged Grammys performance. Trevor Noah took to Twitter to compliment the rapper and took a dig at Kanye West in the process.
"Kendrick is what Kanye would have been if the Kardashians didn't get him," joked the Daily Show host.

For his performance, Lamar walked onstage as part of a chain gang while his band performed inside jail cells for his song "The Blacker the Berry." He transitioned into "Alright" in front of a giant bonfire before debuting a new song about "modern-day slavery" and ending his performance with a map of Africa behind him with "Compton" written across it.
Noah also said, "Those white people in the audience looked terrified. Right now they wish Beyonce was on stage." Noah was referring to critics of Beyonce's "Formation" single and Super Bowl performance. These critics were recently mocked in Saturday Night Live's "The Day Beyonce Turned Black" sketch.

Lamar has been nominated for 11 Grammys and has already won for best rap album (To Pimp a Butterfly), best rap performance and best rap song ("Alright") and best rap/sung collaboration ("These Walls").
