Tribeca Film Acquires 'Romantics Anonymous' for U.S. (Cannes 2011)

The romance by Jean-Pierre Ameris has grossed more than $9 million in France.

CANNES -- Tribeca Film has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Jean-Pierre Ameris Romantics Anonymous, which had its international premiere at the recent Tribeca Film Festival.

The film, which Ameris wrote with Philippe Blasband, stars Isabelle Caree as a shy, unemployed chocolate maker, who is hired by a similarly shy chocolate company owner, played by Jean-Rene Van Den Hugde.

The film will be released in the coming months by Tribeca Fillm on a variety of platforms.

Romantics, which has grossed more than $9 million in France, was produced by Nathalie Gastaldo and Philippe Godeau. The deal with StudioCanal, which is handling international sales, was finalized in Cannes by Nick Savva, director of acquisitions for Tribeca Film with Anna Marsh for StudioCanal.
