Tribeca Film Institute adds two initiatives

Also plans to expand existing film education programs

The Tribeca Film Institute unveiled two new educational initiatives on Wednesday -- a fund to support moving image education in New York City public schools and two afterschool film programs in Brooklyn.

TFI also described plans to expand several of its existing film education programs that will take place during this year's Tribeca Film Festival from April 22 to May 2.

This month, TFI will introduce JP Morgan Chase's Camera-to-Classroom Fund, which will allow cultural organizations to partner with New York City public schools, using the curriculum and training outlined in the "Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts: The Moving Image" developed by TFI, the NYC Department of Education and the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting.

"Blueprint" is also a guide all of TFI's year-round and festival-based education programs, which include the expanded Tribeca Teaches: Films in Motion, the Tribeca Film Fellows Program and TFI's Youth Screening Series.
