Tribeca/ESPN Sports Fest sets board


The inaugural Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival, a rebranded collection of 14 sports and competition-themed films from the current Tribeca Film Festival lineup, announced new advisory board members and attendees for a May 5 outdoor "Sports Saturday" event. The board will include Mark Cuban, Spike Lee, the Farrelly Brothers, Richard Linklater, former Senator and Knicks player Bill Bradley, Jimmy Kimmel, Nick Hornby, Drew Nieporent, John Sloss, Ron Shelton, Jon Tisch, MLS commissioner Don Garber, New York Mets COO Jeff Wilpon, NHL Enterprises president Ed Horne and others. Champion snowboarder Sean White will hold interactive demonstrations alongside members the NBA, New York Jets, New York Giants, New York Islanders, New York Mets, New Jersey Devils and the New York Red Bulls. If the turnout proves to be large enough, Tribeca cofounder Jane Rosenthal said the festival may travel to other cities.
