Ex-Tribune Chair Justin Dearborn Joins ICM Partners as COO
Dearborn stepped down as chairman and CEO of Tribune Publishing last month.
Former Tribune Publishing Co. chairman and CEO Justin Dearborn has joined ICM Partners as COO, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
A little over three weeks ago, Dearborn had stepped down from his posts at Tribune, where he had served as CEO since 2016 and chairman since last March. He previously served as CEO and board member at healthcare technology provider Merge Healthcare, which was acquired by IBM in 2015.
"We could not be more thrilled than to have Justin join our team," ICM managing director Chris Silbermann said in a statement. "We just completed our best year ever, and Justin will be a vital part of managing what we see as a clear path for sustainable internal growth, while helping us identify and close strategic partnerships and acquisitions."
Dearborn, who is credited for his experience in short- and long-term corporate strategy and growth as well as M&A development and integration, will be responsible for ICM's day-to-day business operations and report to Silbermann.
"ICM Partners is poised for sustainable growth and profitability with a client-first strategy that has seen the agency take a leadership role and capitalize on the rapidly-growing new Entertainment Industry economy," said Dearborn. "Chris and the board have a great vision for their future, and I look forward to working with them to implement their aggressive and attainable strategic plan with a fresh view of growth opportunities."
ICM has expanded extensively over the past two years, with recent acquisitions including comedy festival brand Just For Laughs, D.C.-based literary firm The Sagalyn Agency, speakers bureau Royce Carlton and Headline Media Management, which established the agency's broadcast department.
