Trimarchi joins Canada's Alliance Films

Indie distributor adds exec to home entertainment group

TORONTO -- Canadian indie film distributor Alliance Films has hired Frank Trimarchi to bolster its Quebec-based home entertainment division.

Montreal-based Alliance Films, which is privately owned by Goldman Sachs & Co. and Societe generale de financement du Quebec, on Wednesday named Trimarchi as vp Quebec sales planning for Alliance Home Entertainment.

Trimarchi comes to Alliance Films, Canada's largest indie film distributor, from Zanin CD/DVD and Director Source Special Products.

Alliance Films, which has output deals with New Line Cinema, Relativity Media, Focus Features and the Weinstein Co., operates a Quebec-based Vivafilm division.
