Trio get 'Hurt' at ABC; Eggold , Walter move into the CW ZIP code


Tom Amandes, Missi Pyle and Alex Meneses have been tapped for ABC's comedy pilot "This Might Hurt," Ryan Eggold and Jessica Walter have joined the CW's "Beverly Hills, 90210" spinoff and Susanna Thompson has come aboard NBC's drama "Kings."

"Hurt," from 20th TV, is set at a medical practice owned by a pediatrician (Amandes), his son (Josh Dean) with whom he's in constant conflict and an OB/GYN (Pyle) with an inherent distrust of all men.

Meneses plays the office manager, a former telenovela star.

"90210," from CBS Par, revolves around the Mills, a Beverly Hills family. Walter ("Arrested Development") will play Tabitha Mills, a former Hollywood star grandmother whose alcohol problem triggers her son and his family's move to Beverly Hills. She is repped by Innovative and Industry.

Eggold ("Dirt") will play Ryan Matthews, a cool English teacher at West Beverly High. He is repped by TalentWorks and Generate.

"Kings," from UMS, centers on David (Christopher Egan), who joins the court of King Silas (Ian McShane). Thompson will play Silas' wife, Queen Rose. (partialdiff)
