Trio join Nigel Cole's 'We Want Sex'

Andrea Riseborough, Jaime Winstone, Daniel Mays cast

More Cannes coverage

CANNES -- Andrea Riseborough, Jaime Winstone and Daniel Mays are shouting "We Want Sex," signing on to join Sally Hawkins and Bob Hoskins in the cast of the Nigel Cole-directed dramedy.

Scripted by William Ivory, "Sex" centers on feisty factory worker Rita (Hawkins), who inadvertently challenges one of the world's biggest corporations.

Stephen Woolley and Elizabeth Karlsen's Number 9 Films will produce, with BBC Films co-producing. HanWay Films is selling the project at the Cannes market.

The film is based on the real-life Ford Dagenham factory, which saw female workers go on strike in 1968 after being reclassified as "unskilled."

Shooting begins next month on location in the U.K. and at London's 3 Mills Studio.
