'Triple Play' boosts Unity Q2

Digital cable base climbs to 22%

MUNICH -- German cable operator Unity Media reported strong second-quarter growth Thursday thanks to its upgraded "Triple Play" services. Unity passed the 1 million digital access customers mark, bringing digitization of the cable base to 22% in June.

Total revenue increased 14% in the second quarter to 208.9 million euros ($310.7 million), up from 182.6 million euros ($271.6 million) over the same period in 2007.

Arena, the company's satellite subsidiary, generated 87.6 million euros ($130.3 million) of income.
