The actor-comedian, who was a one-time correspondent in 2004, had a recurring role on Parks and Recreation and currently appears on HBO's Girls. Glaser also serves as a writer for Comedy Central's Inside Amy Schumer and had a minor role in 2015's Trainwreck.

The cable network, which recently transitioned to humor, has also renewed 'The Carbonaro Effect' and 'Hack My Life.'

Deepening its commitment to its comedy shift and boosting original offerings, TruTV has ordered three new primetime series.

Unscripted effort Almost Genius, list-based series 10 Things (hosted by Girl Code’s Jamie Lee) and film-centric truOriginals: Inside Iconic Comedy have all been given the green light. The orders, which come at the year anniversary of the TruTV rebrand, are joined by renewals for existing comedies The Carbonaro Effect (13 episodes) and Hack My Life (10 episodes).

Perhaps most interesting in the slate is the pilot order for a Jon Glaser vehicle. The Girls actor and frequent Amy Schumer collaborator is developing the hybrid project Jon Glaser Loves Gea, which delves into his love of shopping, wearing and talking about ... gear. There is also a pilot presentation order for Inside Caucasia, described a "cultural travelogue" created by Naomi Ekperigin and Andy Beckerman.

"We've come a long way over the past year when it comes to establishing the new truTV brand, and we're experiencing real momentum," said TruTV president and head of programming Chris Linn. "These programming moves represent our continued investment in innovative, talent-driven shows that can engage our viewers across every platform."

TruTV has seen ratings climb from the pre-rebrand lows. The network's primetime is up 45 percent with adults 18-49 and 55 percent with adults 18-34 since November 2014.
