Turner on jury duty at Flanders

LONDON -- Kathleen Turner will serve as president of the jury at the 34th annual Flanders International Film Festival, event organizers said Thursday.

The Flanders festival, set for Oct. 9-20 in Ghent, Belgium, is distinguished as the only major film festival that focuses on celebrating the impact of music on film.

The jury presents awards in four major categories: best film, director, screenplay and the Georges Delerue Award for best music. Previous best film winners have included "Ten Canoes," "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada," "Nobody Knows," "In America" and "The Man Without a Past."
