'Catch 21' situation for GSN, Ribeiro

GSN is ready to play "Catch 21." The cable network has ordered 40 episodes of a game show hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro to premiere July 21. The series, executive produced by creator Merrill Heatter and Scott Sternberg, blends pop trivia with the card game 21.

Clinton joins Costello

Bill Clinton will be featured in an upcoming episode of the new Elvis Costello-hosted talk/music series set to air on the Sundance Channel in the U.S., CTV in Canada and Channel 4 in the U.K. Clinton, Lou Reed, Tony Bennett and Elton John are the subjects of the first four episodes of "Spectacle: Elvis Costello With …," a series from Tri-Fi Prods. and John's Rocket Pictures.

NATPE program set

The third annual NATPE Diversity Fellowship Program, presented with the Walter Kaitz Foundation, will get under way at the LATV Festival running July 30-Aug. 1 in Los Angeles. This year, 24 emerging television and video creators of color will participate. Sponsors include BET, the NATPE Educational Foundation, the Walter Kaitz Foundation, ESPN, Fox Networks Group, the Orlando and Scripps Network.

Wimbledon Ace

The Saturday faceoff between Serena and Venus Williams drew the best overnight rating for a Wimbledon women's final in three years. The match, won by Venus in straight sets, posted a 3.4 rating/10 share, a 21% increase over last year's final between Venus and Marion Bartoli.
