EmptySlight valley FOR 'Hills' premiere
MTV's "The Hills" averaged a solid 3.48 million total viewers for its fourth-season premiere at 10 p.m. Monday. The episode, which faced stiff competition airing opposite NBC's Olympics coverage, saw a 5% drop-off from the Season 3 premiere a year ago. It also pulled in 2.7 million viewers in the 12-34 demographic, down 9%.
LMN's 'Lost' cause
Lifetime Movie Network's original movie "Little Girl Lost: The Delimar Vera Story" became the second-most-watched telecast in network history, averaging 2 million viewers at 8 p.m. Sunday. That ranks behind the March debut of the miniseries "The Capture of the Green River Killer," which averaged 2.2 million over two nights.
Paley party plans
The Paley Center for Media on Tuesday announced details of this year's Fall Preview Parties at its Beverly Hills location. For the fourth year, the organization will present a weeklong series of free public screening events that offer a sneak peek at shows before their premieres. This year's roster includes ABC's "Life on Mars," CBS' "The Mentalist," the CW's "90210," Fox's "Fringe" and NBC's "My Own Worst Enemy." For the first time, members of the casts and creative teams from several featured shows will participate in Q&As before the screenings, which run Sept. 5-10. Details: PaleyCenter.org.
