NFL adds kick t0 'Wall'

Football overrun Sunday on the first weekend of the new NFL season helped the premiere of Fox's new Japanese-import game show "Hole in the Wall," which averaged 7 million viewers and a 3.5 rating/8 share in adults 18-49, Nielsen Media Research said Monday. Fox had 11.7 million viewers from 7-7:30 p.m. for overrun from its late-afternoon window as well as a 38-minute edition of "The OT" (7 million, 3.2/10).

Scardino turns 19

Janet Scardino has joined Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment as head of the CKX subsidiary's worldwide commercial enterprises. She will work with Fuller and 19 president Robert Dodds on building relationships with global brands in television, digital, mobile and live events.

Full 'Studio' for Disney

Disney Channel is mixing some of its stars and the Muppets in "Studio DC Hosted by Selena Gomez," a special set to premiere Oct. 5. Slated to be featured in comedy/music sketches are the Cheetah Girls, Demi Lovato, Moises Arias and Jason Earles.

Grunfeld upped

ABC Studios has promoted Jacqui Gold Grunfeld to senior vp business affairs, replacing Jeff Frost, who departed last month to join Sony Pictures TV. Grunfeld, who was vp, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the studio's business affairs department.

Special times For Peacock

NBC has scheduled several holiday specials this season. Along with "Letters to Santa — A Muppets Christmas," new specials include the animated "Macy's Presents Little Spirit: Christmas in New York," featuring the voices of Danny DeVito, Lucy Liu, Freddy Rodriguez, Brenda Song and Brian Williams with original songs and music by Duncan Sheik. NBC also will air three countdown specials from Juma Entertainment: "Greatest Holiday TV Specials and Movies," "Greatest Holiday Songs" and "Greatest Holiday Home Videos." "Spirit" airs Dec. 10, followed by "Muppets" on Dec. 17; airdates for the countdown specials will be announced later.
