Premiere Exit

Premiere CEO Michael Boernicke has resigned "for personal reasons," the company said Wednesday. He will be replaced by Premiere supervisory board member Mark Williams, CFO of News Corp.'s European and Asian operations. Boernicke has been with Premiere, Germany's largest pay TV operation, since 1998 and was CEO for a year.

Tuck upped at CW

Rob Tuck has been promoted to executive vp national sales at the CW, overseeing the network's sales and advertising efforts. He replaces Bill Morningstar, who left in July to oversee ad sales for the upcoming Major League Baseball network. Tuck had been executive vp sales and planning at the CW since 2006.

'Dollhouse' on hold

Joss Whedon's sci-fi drama "Dollhouse" has shut down production until Sept. 25 to work on scripts. Filming on Fox's midseason series stopped Thursday after wrapping Episode 3. The request came from creator/executive producer Whedon, who had spent little time in the writers room lately because he directed the first two episodes of the 20th TV series.

'Engvall' renewed

TBS has greenlighted a third season of its original family sitcom "The Bill Engvall Show." The network has ordered 10 episodes for a summer 2009 bow. In addition, TBS will air two special episodes in December.
