TV Guide to air Susan Boyle special

Doc will feature performances, interview with Simon Cowell

TV Guide Network has acquired the U.S. rights to “I Dreamed a Dream: The Susan Boyle Story,” a one-hour TV special about the “Britain’s Got Talent” star.

The special, from FremantleMedia’s talkbackTHAMES and Simon Cowell’s Syco TV, will premiere Dec. 13 on U.K.‘s ITV1 and TV Guide.

It chronicles Boyle’s journey from a small village in rural Scotland to international fame following the viral success of her performance on the Cowell-produced “Talent.”

On the special, Boyle will reprise the song that made her a star, “I Dreamed a Dream,” along with songs from her new CD.

“Dream” also will feature interviews with Boyle, friends and celebrity fans, including Cowell.
“Susan Boyle is one of those rare personalities who has captivated millions of fans around the world with her undeniable vocal talent and incredible life story,” said TV Guide’s president Ryan O’Hara.
